The Museum of Brisbane is holding an exhibition from June to November next year on our LGBT histories. This will be the first time there has been a major city LGBT exhibition of this kind in Australia and so it will be pretty exciting. There will be a strong history emphasis - but it will include much of our lives in stories, objects and visual arts.
The aim of the show is to reveal and recognise the vitality and diversity of LGBT and Queer histories and lives and how they have shaped and been shaped by Brisbane.
We are working with QAHC and the State Library of Queensland as our major partners. Through these and other partnerships, we hope to present as well as the exhibition in the new gallery space at 157 Ann Street, a satellite program of events, exhibitions, reunions, seminars, story sharing sessions.
