The Gay and Lesbian Welfare Association or GLWA began in 1984 as the Homosexual Community Welfare Service (HCWS) providing telephone counselling and information. Peer telephone counselling services has always remained the core focus of our activities.

The association runs twice yearly training programs for people wishing to become telephone counsellors. Contact us for more information on training dates.
Funding of the organisation relies heavily on individual donations, corporate sponsors, and our fundraising activities held throughout the year such as Big Gay Day, Pride, etc. If you wish to make an online donation now, click here.
