GLWA | GLBTI Links Policy
We are developing a policy - currently in draft form below - which will eventually be endorsed by our management committee.
The policy will help US make good consistent decisions about what links to include on our website and help YOU decide whether you should submit a link request.
At the moment the policy changes quite regularly as it develops, so please check the detail on a regular basis. The following options below which will enable you to consider the various sections of the current policy.
Inclusion & Exclusion criteria
Factors that will generally be considered in all cases are as follows.
Inclusion criteria
As a very general guide, an organisation/business/group/individual may be included where it meets one or more of the following criteria (in the opinion of the GLWA Management Committee):
- operated by GLBTI person/s
- provides an explicit, unequivocal, specific and direct service to LGBTI people or communities in Queensland
- provides generic service, not excluding or of interest to LGBTI people or communities, where no similar LGBTI-specific service exists
- operates in Queensland
- operates in Australia where there are no/limited similar organisations/businesses/ groups/individuals in Queensland
- operates internationally where there are no/limited similar organisations/businesses/ groups/individuals in Australia
Exclusion criteria
As a very general guide, an organisation/business/group/individual will be EXcluded where it meets one or more of the following criteria (in the opinion of the GLWA Management Committee):
- provides a generalist or generic service that does not specifically target either GLBTI people and communities in Queensland
- does not appear to offer reasonable terms and conditions
- has copied content from our publications (including this website) without permission
- operates in away that may be in breach of Commonwealth or State legislation
- does not offer reasonable protection for children
- has no established track record or otherwise is not endorsed/supported/recommended by a LGBTI organisation/business/group/individual with an established track record
- has no evidence of broad BGLTI membership
