Other Volunteer Roles

As you would expect, most members of GLWA are interested in being telephone counsellors, but there are many opportunities to contribute and make GLWA effective.

• Training our counsellors
• Organising the social events our counsellors attend 
• Publishing newsletters, minutes and this web-site
• Liaise with businesses and hunting down sponsorships, donations and fund-raising opportunities
• Attend community meetings so that our members can have input into decisions that affect our communities
• Meeting the public at Pride Festival Fair Day, Big Gay Day and other community events
• Managing the roster of counsellors

The list is probably endless! If community volunteering interests you but telephone counselling doesn't seem the right fit, why not come to one of our regular monthly meetings? Guests are welcome to attend and observe, and the regular monthly meetings offer the opportunity for people who want to pitch in right now! Our next regular monthly meeting appears on the calendar page.
