nominate for the management committeeOn a date set in October each year (see our calendar), all management committee positions will be declared vacant at the AGM. Members are invited to nominate their interest in taking up one of these exciting positions. Why not you? The rules of Association in this regard are: 'There shall be a Female Co-Convenor, Male Co-Convenor, Secretary and Treasurer elected at each Annual General Meeting in accordance with Rules 15 and 19 hereof. Nominations in writing for these positions, signed by two financial members and the nominee, must be received by the Secretary at least two weeks prior to the Annual General Meeting. If no such nominations are received for any position, nominations may be taken at the time of the Meeting.' (Rule 11, GLWA Rules of Association) Nominations are accepted in writing up to two weeks before the AGM (with documented support from two other members). If no written nominations are received before that date, verbal and written nominations will be accepted at the AGM. To get you started you may like to submit an online nomination. our life membersKnow anyone who deserves a life sentence *cough* we mean life membership? We are ALWAYS seeking nominations for this very special yearly award to one male and one female member who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and service to GLWA. There are no criteria in the Rules of Association for life memberships. For this reason members from various functions within the organisation (counselling, training, finance, etc) participate in a small team to short list nominations based on criteria developed and/or reviewed at that time. From this short list, the Management Committee selects one male and one female member to be granted life membership. Clicking here will get you a nomination form.
